What is the integration’s impact on research grant applications and management?
A guide for Rutgers and UMDNJ faculty and staff has been developed and posted at orsp.rutgers.edu and at www.umdnj.edu/research. The guide, which will be updated regularly, offers information about proposal development, existing grants and contacts, regulatory compliance, and pending awards. Questions can be directed to integration-grants@rutgers.edu.

What will happen to the UMDNJ Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies after July 1, 2013?

IRB policies have been reconciled for Rutgers and UMDNJ. The two legacy UMDNJ IRBs will be added to the Rutgers federalwide assurance along with the Rutgers IRB as of July 1, 2013.

There will be no changes in protocol reviews on July 1.

Future plans for human subjects protocol reviews include extension of electronic review to all protocols and routing of protocols based not solely on campus or originating unit, but also on IRB area of expertise. For example, all future social-behavioral protocols, regardless of originating unit, will be routed to the current Rutgers IRB.
